Remove Graffiti From COLORBOND® steel
Unfortunately fences and walls are subject to defacement by graffiti.
Numerous graffiti removers or anti-graffiti coatings are available on the market, which claim to deal with this problem when it affects COLORBOND® prepainted steel. The effect of these chemicals on the performance of COLORBOND® steel cannot be guaranteed and use of those chemicals will void BlueScope Steel’s warranties.
Chemicals such as Acetone, Methylethyl Ketone, Toluene, Thinners or commercial Paint Strippers used as graffiti removers must never be used on COLORBOND® steel.
Graffiti Removers
One graffiti removal product which has been shown to be effective in removing graffiti from fencing made from COLORBOND® steel is DuPont™ Graffiti Remover (EZ-3463™). Download Graffiti Removal (76 KB)
Use of this product in accordance with the on-pack directions will not affect your fencing warranty for COLORBOND® steel.
DuPont™ advises that its product is a non hazardous, biodegradable water based product, which can be sprayed on affected surfaces with generally good results.
DuPont™ Graffiti Remover (EZ-3463™) can typically be purchased from suppliers of fencing made from COLORBOND® steel, or from Bunnings Warehouse hardware outlets.
IMPORTANT – It should be noted that graffiti should be removed from all substrates as quickly as possible because if it is allowed to cure over a period of time it can be more difficult to remove.

Maintain Your COLORBOND® steel Fence
MAINTENANCE OF YOUR FENCE
1. To keep your fence looking its best, simply hose your fence down periodically with water when washing the car or watering the garden. A soft broom should be sufficient to remove any cobwebs.
2. Do not build up soil or garden fill against the bottom rail of your fence as this will retain water and lead to corrosion.Do not use your fence as a retaining wall, as it is not designed for this purpose.
3. Avoid spraying the fence with garden sprays or fertilisers as these can damage the surface. If this occurs wash the fence down with water.
Adequate drainage is needed to ensure that water does not pond in the bottom rail and to assist in the removal of debris. This is often achieved by pre-punched holes in the bottom rail, or by designing the posts such as there is a clearance between the ends of the bottom rail and posts.
